Greetings and Happy Advent, the first day of our Liturgical Year.

My Name is Deacon Armando Daniel Moreno.

On September 19, 2020, I was ordained as a Catholic Deacon in the Stockton Diocese. My assignment to serve is at the Cathedral of the Annunciation located in Stockton, CA. The Cathedral has been home for me since my days of youth as I attended mass there with Mom and sister’s. Lori and I were married at the Cathedral in 1980.

Today is the first Sunday of Advent and I was inspired by Fr. John’s homily this morning, to start a blog dedicated to serving our Lord and His faithful messages to each of us, as we travel together on earth. During Advent, we prepare ourselves not only for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Christmas Day, but to consciously prepare ourselves for beyond His birth, to a place we are all called to strive for, His Glorious Kingdom. Today, with the reading of the Gospel of Mark, I was reminded, to be prepared and watchful for the coming of our savior. To always be mindful on how we treat one another, the poor, the imprisoned, the least of our brothers and sisters. This is the time to be alert and not be found sleeping.
